Marvel Snap has now been banned in the US alongside TikTok, thanks to an association with the social media platform's parent company ByteDance, catching players off guard.

Digital collectible card game 'Marvel Snap' was shut down in the U.S., a casualty of the government ban targeting TikTok.

The superhero card battler is still available on Steam, but the game got Thanos-snapped out of Apple and Google’s stores because its publisher is owned by ByteDance.

The social media app TikTok was banned in the US today and, as it turns out, so was the popular online card game Marvel Snap.

In a statement, developers Second Dinner and publisher Nuverse said the game was unexpectedly impacted by the takedown of TikTok on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Marvel Snap has been abruptly shut down and removed from App Stores due to the controversial TikTok ban in the United States.

Card game Marvel Snap is now unplayable in the United States following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the planned TikTok ban.

Marvel Snap has been banned in the US. Whilst 170m American TikTokers were anticipating the app's suspension after the US Supreme Court upheld a decision to ban the Chinese app over security concerns, Marvel Snap players in the US have also been impacted given publisher Nuverse is also owned by TikTok owner, ByteDance.

The social platform was joined in bans by AI creative platform CapCut and free-to-play card game Marvel Snap, which both had ties to ByteDance.
