Meghalaya state police have launched an investigation in response to a press release circulating on social media about the resurgence of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) in Garo Hills.

The recovery took place near Chibilbang village, where authorities found a country-made firearm, two live mortar shells, and 428 rounds of suspected AK ammunition.
