According to the Clay County Coroner’s Office, Donald Keith Nicholson, 73, of Manchester, was driving through flood waters when, at some point, he exited his vehicle and was swept away by rushing water. He was pronounced dead around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The city of Manchester as well as Clay County have both declared a state of emergency as torrential rain continues to cover roads and sweep through the county's infrastructure.

According to The Enterprise, a body was found in Clay County's Horse Creek. The Enterprise's reports says that a person, who has not been identified, was seen floating in the flooded waters.
