Texas Maryland (also known as "Little Texas") is a rapidly disappearing village in Baltimore County, Maryland USA. The area was originally settled, in the mid 19th century, by Irish and other immigrants who worked in the local limestone and marble quarries.

Texas, in present day Baltimore County, is an unincorporated village located 12 miles north of Baltimore City. The site is located in a densely populated and heavily commercial and industrial corridor of Baltimore County (MAAR Associates 1992: I-12-I 13).

Apr 22, 2015 · From 2009 to 2011, the Archaeology of Labor and Immigration Project at the University of Maryland led by Stephen Brighton conducted three archaeological field schools in the small quarry town of Texas in Baltimore County, Maryland, a source for lime as well as marble used in notable buildings such as the Washington Monument and the Capitol.

The Friends of Texas Maryland, a Special Interest Group of the Historical Society of Baltimore County, was pleased to support the work of the Ballykilcline Society as well as the ongoing archaeology directed by Dr. Stephen Brighton from University of Maryland, College Park.
